Sarwat Gilani

Sarwat Gilani (born 22 December 1982) is a celebrated Pakistani actress, model and voice‑over artist who has made a notable impact across film, television and stage. Born in Peshawar in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, she hails from a distinguished Syed Gilani lineage on her father's side and traces maternal ancestry to the former Nawab of Manavadar, Ghulam Moinuddin Khanji, linking her to Babai Pashtun roots. She first entered the public eye as a fashion model before transitioning to acting, and her professional career officially began in 2008, quickly establishing her as a versatile talent capable of both comedic and dramatic roles. Gilani’s cinematic debut came with the hit comedy Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, where she portrayed a pregnant Pashtun woman opposite Vasay Chaudhary, a performance that earned her widespread recognition and led to a reprise in the sequel Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
