What's After the Movie
Rolf Holger Lassgård was born on 29 March 1955 in the northern Swedish town of Östersund, Jämtland, where he first distinguished himself as a keen amateur ice‑hockey player before turning his attention to the performing arts. Ingemar Lind’s Institute for the Performing Arts in the nearby village of Storhögen gave him his initial theatrical training, and he later refined his craft at the National Swedish School of Acting between 1975 and 1978. During his studies he met director Peter Oskarson, joining Oskarson’s Skånska Teatern company in Landskrona where he spent four formative years, making his television debut as Puck in a 1980 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He followed Oskarson to the Folkteatern in Gävle in 1982, earning critical acclaim for a series of intense stage performances that cemented his reputation as a versatile and compelling actor.
