What's After the Movie
Rebecca Forstadt (born December 16, 1953) is an American voice actress best known for bringing youthful female characters to life across decades of animated and live‑action productions. After studying theater at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California, she cut her teeth performing melodramas at Knott’s Berry Farm’s Bird Cage Theater, often cast as the classic damsel in distress. She later moved to Hollywood where she worked behind the scenes as a wardrobe mistress on series such as The White Shadow and Hill Street Blues and on the film S.O.B., while simultaneously honing her craft in Los Angeles live theatre, notably earning acclaim for her role as Josette in Eugène Ionesco’s Tales for People Under 3 Years of Age in 1982. Forstadt’s on‑screen career includes low‑budget films like Mugsy’s Girls and Round Numbers and guest spots on television staples Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and L.A. Law. Her breakout in voice work arrived with the iconic role of Lynn Minmei in the English dub of the 1980s anime Robotech, a performance that opened the door to hundreds of roles ranging from Nunnally Lamperouge in Code Geass to Rika Furude in When They Cry and Monomi in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Beyond anime she has contributed to western cartoons, live‑action series such as Masked Rider and Power Rangers: Time Force, and provided background voices for major films including Antz, Dr. Dolittle and The Santa Clause. With a career spanning from 1980 to the present, Rebecca continues to be a versatile and respected talent in the voice‑acting community.
