Pragya Nagra

Pragya Nagra, born on 14 December 1998 in Ambala, Haryana, India, is an Indian actress who has carved a niche for herself in the South Indian film industry. Coming from a Punjabi family with her mother being of Rajasthani descent, she spent her formative years in Delhi, where she completed her schooling and pursued her engineering studies. Her father served in the Indian Armed Forces and was posted in Chennai for a period, which exposed her to the vibrant culture of the city and planted the seeds of her future career in the entertainment industry. She was also an active member of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) during her student days, harboring aspirations of joining the armed forces herself before eventually pivoting towards modelling and acting.

Before stepping into the world of cinema, Nagra established herself as a prominent model, featuring in over 100 commercials while balancing her engineering education in Delhi. Her passion for acting blossomed during her frequent visits to Chennai, which prompted her to leave her studies behind and make the bold move to the Tamil film industry. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film Varalaru Mukkiyam (2022) opposite actor Jiiva, where she portrayed a Malayali girl. Despite the film receiving negative reviews from critics and audiences, her acting skills were recognized by industry insiders, opening doors for further opportunities. She subsequently expanded her repertoire by appearing in the Malayalam socio-political drama Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna, where she played the role of a Kannada girl alongside Dhyan Sreenivasan and Aju Varghese. With her versatility and dedication, she continues to make her mark across multiple South Indian film industries and has been speculated to venture into Tollywood and Bollywood in the future.
