Piotr Trojan (born June 6, 1986) is a distinguished Polish actor and playwright whose career has spanned stage, television, and film, earning him critical acclaim and multiple prestigious awards. Raised in the industrial town of Tarnowskie Góry in Silesia, he cultivated a passion for performance early on, eventually enrolling at the renowned Łódź Film School where he graduated in 2009, honing his craft under the tutelage of some of Poland’s most respected educators. After completing his studies, Trojan debuted at the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in 2007, quickly establishing himself as a versatile stage presence, and later joined the avant‑garde TR Warszawa in 2014, where his interpretations of contemporary Polish playwrights garnered praise for their emotional depth and subtle nuance. Concurrently, he broke into television, delivering memorable guest‑starring performances in series such as Days of Honor, L for Love, Father Matthew, Na dobre i na złe, The Border, Na Wspólnej and Wartime Girls, and later securing recurring roles in the crime thriller Signs (2018‑2020) and the soap opera First Love (2019‑2020). Trojan’s breakthrough on the big screen arrived with the 2020 drama 25 Years of Innocence, where his portrayal of a man wrongfully imprisoned for a quarter‑century earned him the Polish Academy Award for Best Actor and the Gdynia Film Festival Award for Best Actor, cementing his status as one of Poland’s leading cinematic talents. He continued this momentum with the crime drama Operation Hyacinth (2021) on Netflix and the biographical film Johnny (2022), the latter bringing him a second Gdynia Best Actor award and another Polish Academy Award nomination.
