Paul Herman (born March 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York City) was a prolific American actor whose career spanned nearly four decades, earning him a reputation as a reliable character actor in both film and television. He entered the industry in 1982 and remained active until 2021, appearing in a remarkable array of critically acclaimed projects that showcased his versatility and gritty New York sensibility. Herman’s most recognizable role came as Randy in David O. Russell’s dramedy Silver Linings Playbook (2012), a performance that highlighted his ability to blend humor with pathos, while his later turn as Whispers DiTullio in Martin Scorsese’s epic The Irishman (2019) cemented his status as a favored collaborator of the legendary director.
