Onni Tommila

Onni Tommila was born on July 18, 1999 in Porvoo, Finland, into a family deeply rooted in the performing arts. He is the son of veteran actor Jorma Tommila and scenic designer Ida Helander‑Tommila, and his maternal uncle is director Jalmari Helander, who has been a frequent collaborator. Growing up surrounded by film sets and theater rehearsals, Onni developed an early fascination with storytelling and began studying acting techniques while still in primary school. His first screen appearance came in 2005 when he was cast in the short film Rare Exports: The Official Safety Instructions, a precursor to the cult classic that would later bring him wider recognition. By the age of ten, he had already demonstrated a remarkable ability to convey complex emotions, a talent that caught the attention of Finnish filmmakers looking for fresh, authentic talent.
