Omowunmi Dada, born on 2 October 1989 in Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria, is a versatile Nigerian talent whose career spans acting, voice‑over work, presenting, modelling and brand ambassadorship. From a young age she immersed herself in Yoruba cultural activities, attending Ifako International Nursery and Primary School where she joined the Yoruba Cultural Troupe, and later Command Day Secondary School in Oshodi before pursuing a Creative Arts degree at the University of Lagos. While at university she honed her performance skills in stage productions, notably starring in Moremi Ajasoro under the direction of Femi Oke, which laid the foundation for her professional acting journey. In 2013 she made her film debut with a role in Oya, sharing the screen with Tunji Sotimirin, and quickly escalated to prominent roles such as the supporting part in Kunle Afolayan’s Omugwo alongside Patience Ozokwor and Ayo Adesanya. Dada’s television presence grew through appearances in popular series including Jemeji, where she portrayed Folake, as well as Tinsel, Married to the Game, So Wrong so Wright, and the African adaptation Dere, earning her widespread recognition across Yoruba and English‑language audiences. Her 2017 performance in the critically acclaimed Yoruba film Somewhere in the Dark garnered a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Best of Nollywood Awards and contributed to the film’s AMVCA win for Best Indigenous Film. In 2018 she broke new ground as the voice of the title character in Sade, Nigeria’s first full‑length animated feature, showcasing her vocal talent. Beyond screen work, Dada is a dedicated brand ambassador for Jumia Nigeria and supports charitable causes as an ambassador for the Daivyan Children Cancer Foundation and the Brian Wotari Foundation. Her commitment to the craft earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her role in Country Hard, and she continues to expand her artistic horizons with aspirations in directing and producing, making her a dynamic figure in contemporary Nollywood.
