Born in Abeokuta, Ogun State to devout parents, Deaconess Adekola and Pastor Nathaniel A. Adekola, he grew up steeped in the values of the Christ Apostolic Church while simultaneously cultivating a deep love for performance arts, a passion that led him to join the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts practitioners in 1996. His early education at St. John's Primary School and St. Peter's College was followed by a diploma from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, and he later earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 2018, illustrating his commitment to both artistic and academic excellence. Adekola’s breakthrough came with the 2003 film Asiri Gomina Wa, directed by Ishola Durojaye, after which he rapidly amassed a prolific filmography that includes notable titles such as Sunday Dagboru, Alani Pamolekun, Mufu Olosa Oko, Oyenusi, and Samu Alajo, showcasing his versatility across comedic, dramatic, and action genres. In addition to acting, he has written, produced, and directed numerous movies, founding the Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP) to nurture emerging talent and expand his creative control.
