Öner Erkan

Öner Erkan (born 4 January 1980 in İzmir, Turkey) is a distinguished Turkish actor whose career spans over two and a half decades. From a young age he was drawn to the stage, beginning his acting pursuits at 15 and later formalizing his craft at the Department of Theatre, Dokuz Eylül University, before earning a master’s degree from Bahçeşehir University. His early professional years saw him performing in a series of productions with İstanbul City Theatre between 2003 and 2004, where he honed his dramatic range and earned recognition among peers. Erkan’s breakout into television came with a guest appearance on the popular sitcom Avrupa Yakası, which opened doors to more substantial roles such as Ferit Pamukçuoğlu in the family comedy İki Aile and the witty character Bora Alsancak in the hit series Yalan Dünya (2012‑2014). He further showcased his versatility by portraying dual characters in the comedy Üsküdar’a Giderken and taking part in the period drama Deli Saraylı.

In recent years Erkan has cemented his status as a leading actor in both television and streaming platforms, notably embodying Selim Koçovalı in the gritty crime series Çukur (2017‑2020) and starring in Netflix productions such as Uysallar and Bir Başkadır. His film repertoire includes appearances in Organize İşler, Son Osmanlı Yandım Ali, and Hırsız Var, as well as leading roles in Kağıt and 7 Kocalı Hürmüz. His talent has been formally recognized with the prestigious Golden Orange award for Best Leading Actor for Bornova Bornova (2009) and the Afife Theater Awards for Best Actor for his performances in Babamın Cesetleri and Dünyada Karşılaşmış Gibi.
