Michelle Wilson

Michelle Danielle Collins (born 28 May 1962) is a British actress, model, and television presenter whose career has spanned over four decades. Born in Homerton, London, she grew up in Highbury with her Welsh mother Mary and a father of English and Flemish descent; her paternal grandfather emigrated from Antwerp in 1915. From the age of fourteen she trained at the Royal Court Activists and Cockpit Youth Theatre and studied drama at Kingsway Princeton College, laying a solid foundation for her future work. After university, Collins broke into professional theatre with a role in Mikhail Bulgakov’s The Crimson Island at the Gate Theatre and later appeared in the 1978 music video for Squeeze’s “Cool For Cats”. She also sang as a backing vocalist for Mari Wilson before returning fully to acting, landing early TV credits alongside Gary Oldman in Morgan’s Boy and guest spots in Bergerac and The Bill.
