Matt Malloy

Matt Malloy (born Matthew Malloy on December 6, 1963) is an American actor and producer whose career spans more than three decades of film, television, and radio work. Born in the small village of Hamilton, New York, Malloy pursued formal training at the State University of New York at Purchase, where he earned a BFA and honed the craft that would later define his versatile screen presence. His early break came in 1988 with a televised adaptation of The Caine Mutiny Court‑Martial, followed swiftly by a memorable turn as documentary filmmaker Deke Conners in HBO’s satirical series Tanner ’88. The following year he stepped onto the big‑screen stage as the bumbling Otis in The Unbelievable Truth, marking his first box‑office film credit. Malloy’s most celebrated performance arrived in 1997 with the black comedy In the Company of Men, where he co‑starred alongside Aaron Eckhart and Stacy Edwards and also served as co‑executive producer, showcasing his behind‑the‑scenes acumen. Over the ensuing years he amassed over one hundred credits across television and cinema, including voice‑over contributions to the acclaimed radio program This American Life. From 2013 to 2014 he portrayed Mormon GOP Senator Louis Laffer in the Amazon Prime Video political comedy Alpha House, sharing the screen with John Goodman and embodying the satirical world of Capitol Hill politics.
