Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson is a British‑American disc jockey, record producer, songwriter and remixer whose career has spanned over three decades, beginning in 1993 when he first gained notice on the New York club circuit. Born Mark Daniel Ronson on 1975‑09‑04 in Notting Hill, London, he moved to New York City at age eight and was raised in a musically rich environment that included his stepfather, Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones. Ronson’s early work as a DJ led to his first production opportunities, and in 2003 he released his debut album Here Comes the Fuzz on Elektra Records, featuring eclectic collaborations with artists such as Mos Def, Jack White and Rivers Cuomo. After parting with Elektra, he founded Allido Records, a label that would help launch the careers of Wale, Rhymefest and Daniel Merriweather, while he continued to refine his production style. The breakthrough came with the 2006‑2007 period when he produced Amy Winehouse’s critically acclaimed Back to Black and scored hit singles like “Valerie” and “Stop Me,” earning him Grammy Awards for Producer of the Year and Record of the Year. His 2014 collaboration with Bruno Mars on the unstoppable anthem “Uptown Funk” dominated charts worldwide, spending fourteen weeks atop the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and solidifying his status as a pop‑culture powerhouse. In addition to chart success, Ronson co‑wrote the Oscar‑winning song “Shallow” for A Star Is Born (2018) and served as executive producer for the Barbie soundtrack (2023), further demonstrating his versatility across film and music. Beyond the studio, Ronson has been a patron of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, an advocate for music education, and an influential style figure, repeatedly recognized by GQ as one of the best‑dressed men in the UK. His personal life includes marriages to French actress Joséphine de La Baume (2011‑2018) and American actress Grace Gummer (2021‑present), with whom he has two daughters.
