Maika Yamamoto

Maika Yamamoto (山本 舞香, born 13 October 1997) is a Japanese actress, model, and TV personality who has built a versatile career across television, film, and fashion since her debut in 2011. Born in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, she grew up with an elder brother and a younger brother before moving to Tokyo at age fifteen to attend a private high school while pursuing acting opportunities. Her first appearance on screen came in the Fuji TV series Soredemo, Ikite Yuku, and the same year she gained nationwide recognition as the 14th Mitsui ReHouse Girl, a prestigious advertising role for a major housing company. In 2015 she delivered breakout performances as Kaede Kayano in the live‑action adaptation of Assassination Classroom and as Chiyomi Horikiri, the diminutive dancer‑writer, in the drama Minami‑kun no Koibito, both of which showcased her ability to blend emotional depth with youthful energy. The following years saw her expand into cinema, notably portraying Mizuki Kurata in the 2018 film version of the manga After the Rain, further cementing her status as a sought‑after young talent.
