Madeline Weinstein

Born on May 22, 1993 in New York City, Madeline Weinstein grew up in a secular Jewish family that she describes as “anti‑traditionalist” and rooted in a legacy of “Jewish labor leftist organizing.” She pursued her passion for performance at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater in 2014, a milestone that launched her transition from academic studies to professional stages. Weinstein’s early immersion in New York’s vibrant cultural scene fostered a versatile acting style, blending classical training with contemporary sensibilities, which would later define her work across Broadway, independent cinema, and television. Her identity and background have often informed her choice of roles, allowing her to bring depth to characters navigating complex social and personal terrains.  In 2014, she made her Broadway debut in Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing, portraying the youthful daughter of the central couple, a role that placed her alongside veterans such as Ewan McGregor, Cynthia Nixon, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Following this, Weinstein tackled the titular daughter in Tracy Letts’ Mary Page Marlowe at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre, while simultaneously appearing in guest spots on TV series like Elementary, Blue Bloods, and Shades of Blue. Her film breakthrough arrived with the indie hit Beach Rats (2017), where critics praised her “deft, well‑salted turn.” The subsequent year she headlined Netflix’s rom‑com Alex Strangelove, cementing her screen presence. She returned to Broadway in the original cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (2018‑2019) as Polly Chaplman, and later shone in Off‑Broadway productions of Euripides’ Medea (2020) and Itamar Moses’ The Ally (2024). Recent credits include a supporting turn in Queen of Glory (2021), a recurring role on HBO’s Mare of Easttown (2021), and a flirty daughter of a rabbi in Nathan Silver’s Between the Temples (2024), showcasing her continued rise across mediums.
