Lori Alan

Lori Alan, born on July 18, 1966, in Potomac, Maryland, is a distinguished American actress whose career has spanned over three decades across voice acting, television, film, and theater. Growing up in a mixed-faith household with a Southern Baptist mother and Jewish father, both of whom were performers named Martha and Eliot, Alan was encouraged to pursue acting from an early age, making her television debut at just five years old in a Shakey's Pizza commercial. She honed her craft at Winston Churchill High School before continuing her education at Emerson College and ultimately graduating cum laude from New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her early professional experience included performing in off-Broadway productions and as a member of the renowned improv group The Groundlings, where she developed the improvisational skills that would later define her unique approach to voice acting and character development. Throughout her extensive career, Alan has become one of the most recognizable voices in animation and video games, most notably portraying Pearl Krabs in the long-running Nickelodeon series SpongeBob SquarePants since its inception, as well as the villainous Diane Simmons in Family Guy, Sue Richards (the Invisible Woman) in Marvel's Fantastic Four animations, and The Boss in the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid video game series, the latter earning recognition as one of the top 25 greatest acting performances in video games by Complex magazine. Her extensive filmography includes major animated features such as Toy Story 3, Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, WALL-E, and Inside Out, alongside on-camera appearances in popular television series including Desperate Housewives, Ray Donovan, Workaholics, Bones, CSI, and multiple Law & Order franchises.
