Linda Marsh

Linda Marsh, born Linda Cracovaner on February 8, 1939 in New York City, is an American actress whose work spanned film, stage, and television during the 1960s and 1970s. She was the daughter of Dr. Arthur Cracovaner, a physician, and Liska March, a former Ziegfeld dancer, and she adopted the surname Marsh after discovering the actors' union already listed a Linda March. Marsh attended a private school in New York before enrolling at Bennington College, though she left after two years to pursue a career in acting. Her early break came with a Golden Globe‑nominated performance in Elia Kazan’s 1963 epic America, America, where she played the young woman betrothed to the film’s protagonist, a role that highlighted her ability to convey deep emotional conflict. On Broadway she earned notice as Ophelia opposite Richard Burton in John Gielgud’s celebrated 1964 production of Hamlet, a performance that drew mixed reviews but earned Gielgud’s personal support. Throughout the mid‑ to late‑1960s and into the 1970s Marsh became a prolific guest star on popular television series, appearing in episodes of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., I Spy, The Wild Wild West, Mannix, It Takes a Thief, Hawaii Five‑O, Perry Mason, The Big Valley, Death Valley Days, and many others, often portraying sophisticated or mysterious women. Her film credits, though fewer, include Che! (1969), Homebodies (1974) and Freebie and the Bean (1974), while she also appeared in the TV miniseries The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (1978). After a series of rhinoplasties that altered her appearance, she shifted toward more glamorous roles before her last credited performances in 1979. Marsh married actor Richard Sinatra in 1966, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1970; she does not appear to have any children.
