James Lloyd, better known by his stage name Lil' Cease, is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer who rose to prominence in the mid‑1990s as a core member of the hip‑hop collective Junior M.A.F.I.A. Born on August 20, 1977 in Brooklyn, New York City, Lloyd grew up immersed in the vibrant street culture that would later inform his lyrical style and delivery. His first major appearance came on the Junior M.A.F.I.A. debut Conspiracy in 1995, where his memorable verse on “Player’s Anthem” helped the single become the group’s highest‑charting effort and secured frequent shout‑outs from mentor The Notorious B.I.G. These endorsements kept him in the public eye and led to high‑profile collaborations, including a feature on Lil Kim’s “Crush on You,” a track that topped the Hot Rap Songs chart and showcased his ability to blend gritty verses with mainstream appeal.
