Lex Shrapnel

Lex Shrapnel, born Alexander Carey Shrapnel on 6 October 1979 in London, England, is a versatile English actor known for his work across film, television, and stage. He is the second of three sons of veteran actor John Shrapnel and Francesca Ann Bartley, and he comes from a distinguished artistic lineage that includes his maternal grandparents, the celebrated Academy Award‑nominated actress Deborah Kerr and air‑force officer Tony Bartley, as well as his paternal grandfather, journalist Norman Shrapnel. Growing up in a household steeped in performance and literature, Lex developed an early appreciation for storytelling, which was further nurtured by his brothers—director‑writer Tom Shrapnel and writer Joe Shrapnel—who also pursued creative careers. After completing his secondary education, he honed his craft at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating with a solid foundation in classical and contemporary acting techniques.
