Kelsea Ballerini is an American singer‑songwriter and musician whose rise to prominence began in the mid‑2010s. Born on September 12, 1993 in Mascot, Tennessee, she grew up in Knoxville as an only child of Ed and Carla Ballerini and showed an early love for performance, taking dance lessons at age three and singing in church and school choirs. She wrote her first song at twelve for her mother and moved to Nashville at fifteen to pursue a career, later attending Central High School and Lipscomb University before signing with Black River Entertainment in 2014. Her debut single "Love Me Like You Mean It" topped the Country Airplay chart, making her the first solo female artist since Carrie Underwood to achieve a number‑one debut, and she quickly followed with "Dibs" and "Peter Pan," cementing a historic streak of three consecutive chart‑toppers.
