Kaya Scodelario

Kaya Rose Scodelario-Davis (née Humphrey), born 13 March 1992, is a prolific actress who embarked on her acting journey in 2006. She gained popularity for co-starring in the E4 series 'Skins' (2007–2010, 2013), earning two Golden Nymph nominations for her character, Effy Stonem. Taking a step further, she handled several robust roles in movies, such as Wuthering Heights (2011), the Maze Runner series (2014–2018), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), Crawl (2019), and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021). In 2024, she was the star attraction in the action comedy series The Gentlemen.

Born as Kaya Rose Humphrey on 13 March 1992, in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, she is the daughter of Katia Scodelario, a Brazilian, and Roger Humphrey, an English. After her parents divorced when she was an infant, she moved to London with her mother. They experienced financial struggles, differential treatment, and depression, but young Kaya found solace in drama and stage plays. She secured her first role at 14 in Skins, with no prior acting experience. Her character developed through the series, making her a significant character throughout. Over the years, she proved herself by delivering sterling performances and earning critical acclaims, like being nominated twice for Best Actress at the TV Quick Awards.
