Johnny Flynn

John Patrick Vivian Flynn, better known as Johnny Flynn, is a renowned British actor and musician, famed for his rich contributions to the world of film, television, theatre and music. Born on March 14, 1983 in South Africa, Flynn's artistic talents were nurtured from the get-go, given his familial lineage associated with performing arts. His father was British actor and singer Eric Flynn and his younger sister, Lillie Flynn, sings with the Sussex Wit. He relocated to the UK at a tender age of two and later pursued acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.

Flynn initiated his professional journey in 2005 with roles in popular television series like Murder in Suburbia, Holby City and Kingdom. He found stardom with his breakthrough role in film Crusade in Jeans (2006). A versatile talent, Flynn is also celebrated as lead singer and songwriter of the band Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit, entrancing audiences with his melody and rhythm across six studio albums, and profound soundtracks. Flynn has theatrical prowess is reflected in leading roles in iconic plays such as Sam Shepard’s play, True West, and The Motive and the Cue. Flynn's acting and musical performances have received critical acclaim, leading him to roles such as Dylan Witter in sitcom Lovesick, as well as portraying eminent personalities, David Bowie in Stardust and a young Nicholas Winton in One Life. Beyond his on-screen and on-stage successes, Flynn's literary feats pulsate in the children's book The World to Come, written in collaboration with Robert Macfarlane.
