John Michael Higgins is an American actor, comedian, and game‑show host whose career spans over three decades, showcasing a remarkable versatility across film, television, stage, and voice work. Born on February 12, 1963, in Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated from Amherst College in 1985 where he honed his musical talent as a member of the a cappella group the Zumbyes, an experience that later informed his intricate vocal arrangements for Christopher Guest’s mockumentary A Mighty Wind. Higgins first broke into professional performance as a theatre instructor with Street 70 in Maryland, then moved to Broadway with a 1991 appearance in La Bête and off‑Broadway roles such as Edward Albee’s Tiny Alice.
