John Kassir, born on October 24, 1957, is a renowned American actor and comedian. He is celebrated for his role as the voice of the Cryptkeeper in HBO's 'Tales from the Crypt' franchise. He also played the character of Ralph in the off-Broadway show'Reefer Madness' and its subsequent 2005 film adaptation. He holds a distinction as the first voice actor to lend his voice to Disney comics character Scrooge McDuck, following the death of Alan Young. His early life was spent in Baltimore, Maryland, born to Iraqi and Syrian parents. Kassir graduated from Towson State University in Towson, Maryland, majoring in theatre. He initially kicked off his career in stand-up comedy, notably defeating Sinbad for best stand-up comic on Star Search in 1985. Kassir's career spans over television, animation, video games, and films, with his most recent works including voice-overs for popular video games and feature animations.
