Ehle gained critical acclaim for her role in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing, receiving a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play and a nomination for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress. She continued to work with Stoppard in The Coast of Utopia (2007), earning another Tony Award. Known for her versatility, Ehle has had impressive performances in films such as The King's Speech (2010), Contagion (2011), and the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Ehle was born on December 29, 1969 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to English actress Rosemary Harris and American author John Ehle. During her early life, she moved between the UK and the US, attending several schools, including Interlochen Arts Academy. Her drama training spanned the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Her career took a significant turn when she debuted in the West End as Elmire in Tartuffe (1991). She has also worked with HBO's Game of Thrones but stepped back after the birth of her daughter. In the recent years, Ehle has continued to contribute significantly to the film and TV industry, with performances in series like The Looming Tower and The Good Fight and movies like She Said, earning critical acclaim.
