Jean-Pierre Bacri, born 24 May 1951, was a renowned French actor and screenwriter. His career took flight in 1976 and he continued to actively contribute to the industry until 2018. One of the most notable aspects of Bacri's career was his frequent collaborations with Agnès Jaoui, with whom he co-wrote several award-winning films. Some of their most successful films included 'Smoking/No Smoking', 'Un air de famille', 'On connaît la chanson', 'The Taste of Others', and 'Look at Me'. Notably, Bacri's brilliant performance in 'On connaît la chanson' won him a César Award for 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role' in 1998. As a screenwriting duo, Bacri and Jaoui together won the César Award for Best Writing four times, the Best Screenplay Award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, the European Film Awards, and the René Clair Award in 2001. Tragically, Bacri lost his life to cancer in 2021 at the age of 69.
