What's After the Movie
James Adomian is an American stand‑up comedian, actor, and impressionist whose career has spanned television, film, voice‑over work, and live comedy stages. Born on January 31, 1980, in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in Atlanta before moving to Los Angeles at age ten, he cultivated an early love for performance, eventually attending Los Angeles Baptist High School and pursuing a self‑designed major in Economics and Theatre Arts at Whittier College, though he later confirmed he did not graduate. Adomian first rose to national attention when he began portraying President George W. Bush on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson from 2005 to 2009, a role that showcased his uncanny vocal mimicry and cemented his reputation as a political satirist. He later expanded his repertoire with recurring impressions of figures such as Mike Lindell, Sebastian Gorka, and Bernie Sanders, the latter highlighted during the 2016 Trump vs. Bernie tour that toured the United States. His television credits include guest spots on MADtv, Mind of Mencia, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and Adult Swim's Childrens Hospital, where he famously played Madonna. In addition to on‑screen work, Adomian has contributed voice talent to animated series like Talking Tom and Friends (as Talking Ben), Pig Goat Banana Cricket, and PBS’s WordGirl. He released his debut comedy album Low Hangin Fruit in 2012 through Earwolf, receiving praise for its blend of personal storytelling, political commentary, and impression work. A frequent performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and The Groundlings, he is also a regular at queer and left‑leaning comedy festivals, including the Portland Queer Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs. Openly gay and of partial Armenian descent, Adomian is the grandson of mathematician George Adomian and remains an active member of the Democratic Socialists of America, using his platform to advocate for progressive causes while entertaining audiences worldwide.
