Iliza Shlesinger

Iliza Vie Shlesinger is a talented American stand-up comedian, actress, and television host known for her vibrant comedic performances. Born on February 22, 1983, in New York City, she was raised in a Jewish family and moved to Dallas, Texas when she was a baby. She studied film at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where she nurtured her love for comedy by joining Jimmy's Traveling All Stars, a comedy sketch group. Upon graduation, she immediately threw herself into the comedy scene in Los Angeles and rapidly gained prominence.

Shlesinger's career began to bloom in 2007 when she won Myspace's So You Think You're Funny contest, setting her on a bright path. The following year, she became the first woman and youngest comedian to win NBC's Last Comic Standing. Since then, she has made significant contributions in the entertainment industry, including hosting her own late-night show, Truth & Iliza, and holding six comedy specials on Netflix till 2022. In her Netflix performances, she knowingly and wisely chosen to have a diverse team of writers to ensure her content appeals to a broad audience. Shlesinger is also known for her acting roles in movies, including a role in the Netflix film, Good on Paper, which she starred, wrote, and executive produced. Outside the screen, Shlesinger is a published author, having written two books by 2022. Despite her busy schedule, she continues to support causes she believes in, including abortion rights, trans rights, and the Black Lives Matter movement.
