Heather Matarazzo (born November 10, 1982) is an accomplished American actress who has made significant marks both on-sreen and off. Most widely recognized for her roles as Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries (2001) and Martha Meeks in Scream 3 (2000) and Scream (2022), she has demonstrated an expansive range that covers both drama and comedy. Matarazzo made her film debut at the tender age of 12 in Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995). This performance earned her an Independent Spirit Award for her portrayal as Dawn Wiener, firmly establishing her as a young talent. Matarazzo's other credits include The Devil's Advocate (1997), All I Wanna Do (1998), 54 (1998), Sorority Boys (2002), Saved! (2004), Hostel: Part II (2007), Sisters (2015) among others. Although mostly known for her film roles, she is no stranger to the stage, she appeared in the 2001–2002 Broadway revival of The Women.
Beyond acting, Matarazzo is also interested in directing. In 2011, news broke that Matarazzo would start working on her directorial debut, a television series based on Diane Hanks' memoir, Summer Camp: A Memoir. In her personal life, Matarazzo has been open about her sexuality. She came out as a lesbian in a 2004 article in the New York Daily News. She was engaged to musician Caroline Murphy but they split amicably in 2012. Matarazzo married comedian Heather Turman in 2018.
