Hari Nef

Hari Nef, an American actress, model, and writer, born on October 21, 1992, has made significant strides in her career with her breakthrough role as Gittel in the Amazon original series Transparent. This versatility earned her a nomination at the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2016. Marking her runway debut at New York Fashion Week Spring 2015, Hari is recognized as the first openly transgender woman signed to IMG Models. She is also a celebrated writer who has spanned a wealth of topics, including fine art, film, gender, sexuality, and transgender identity. Born into a Jewish family in Philadelphia, Hari was raised by her mother in Newton, Massachusetts, following her parents' divorce. She graduated from the renowned Columbia University in May 2015 with a degree in theater. Nef not only has had a successful acting career, but she also showed her strength in writing, which appeared in various well-known publications including The New York Times, Artforum, Dazed, Vice, and BlackBook.
