Guz Khan

Ghulam Dastgir Khan, popularly known as Guz Khan, is a British‑Pakistani comedian, writer and actor whose career has reshaped contemporary UK comedy by weaving the everyday experiences of British‑Asian youth into sharp, socially‑conscious humor. Born on 24 January 1986 in Coventry, England, to Punjabi‑Muslim immigrants, he grew up on a council estate in Hillfields and was the youngest of three children, losing his father at the age of three and later attending Stoke Park School before earning a BA from Coventry University. After graduation he briefly taught Humanities at Grace Academy, a period he later described as valuable for understanding the concerns of working‑class families that would become the backbone of his comedic voice. In 2014 he uploaded his first video to Facebook, quickly gaining attention for his character Mobeen, a witty Muslim man from Small Heath, and the same year he debuted on stage opening for Aamer Rahman, solidifying his presence in live comedy circuits. His viral “Pakisaurus” video in June 2015 combined satire with cultural pride, racking up hundreds of thousands of views and attracting international media coverage, which prompted him to quit teaching and pursue comedy full‑time. Since then, Khan has become a fixture on British television, headlining the BBC series Man Like Mobeen (2017‑present) and appearing on shows such as Taskmaster, Our Flag Means Death and the HBO Max pirate comedy, while also contributing to film projects like Finding Fatimah and The Bubble. He is celebrated for his distinctive style that mixes British‑urban attire with Islamic accessories, and for using humor to challenge stereotypes and address topics from racism to religious identity. Beyond performance, he has fronted national advertising campaigns for Walkers crisps and Uber Eats, demonstrating his broad appeal. A devout Muslim, he lives in the West Midlands with his wife and five children, supports Manchester United and remains an outspoken advocate for Labour politics and Palestinian solidarity.
