Gastón Pauls

Gastón Pauls is an Argentine actor, television host and producer known for his versatile performances across film, television and theatre, and he has become a recognizable figure in the Latin‑American entertainment industry. Born on 17 February 1972 in Buenos Aires, he grew up in a family deeply rooted in the arts—his mother Marina Guerrero was a painter, his father Alex Pauls a film producer, and his paternal grandparents were professional dancers, providing an environment that nurtured his early interest in performance. Pauls first stepped into the public eye as the host of a music video show, quickly moving to act in the teen soap opera Montaña Rusa, where he met future actress Nancy Dupláa, a relationship that would later be a notable part of his personal narrative. His breakout television role came in Verdad Consecuencia, one of Adrián Suar’s early hits on Canal 13, and he continued to solidify his reputation with parts in Alas, poder y pasión and Mamitas. On stage he proved his range in productions such as Desde la lona, Porteños and La gata sobre el tejado de zinc, demonstrating a commitment to live performance that complements his screen work. In cinema, Pauls debuted with Territorio comanche and gained international acclaim with the 2000 cult classic Nine Queens, directed by Fabián Bielinsky, where his nuanced portrayal earned him the Best Actor award at the Biarritz Film Festival. In 2005 he co‑founded the production company Rosstoc S.A., creating programs like “Mejor hablar de ciertas cosas” and “Todos contra Juan”, though the company later declared bankruptcy in 2010. His later projects include producing and starring in the 2008 series Todos contra Juan, directing the media‑focused documentary Miedos de Comunicación, and co‑writing the 2015 biographical film about Padre Carlos Mugica. Currently he hosts the radio show “Mi Otro Yo” on AM 1030 Radio del Plata every Monday night. Personal life includes a long‑term partnership with actress Agustina Cherri from 2007 to 2014, with whom he has two children, daughter Muna (born 2009) and son Nilo (born 2011), and he is noted for his vegetarian diet.
