Garance Marillier

Garance Marillier (born 11 February 1998 in Paris, France) emerged from a richly artistic upbringing, mastering trombone and classical percussion at the Conservatoire of the 11th arrondissement before turning to the stage. Her early immersion in music cultivated a disciplined sensibility that later informed her nuanced performances, and in 2009 she entered the Dyonis theatre company, quickly progressing to the prestigious Cours Florent in 2010 and the Ecole du Jeu in 2012, where she honed her craft under the guidance of seasoned mentors. These formative years laid a solid foundation for a career that would begin in earnest at the age of thirteen, when she was cast as Justine in Julia Ducournau’s short film Junior (2011), a piece that earned a spot in Cannes Critics' Week and signaled her potential to the international film community.

The following year she continued to attract festival attention with It’s Not a Cowboy Film (2012), again showcased at Cannes, demonstrating a growing versatility in short‑form storytelling. Marillier sustained a steady stream of short‑film work, each role sharpening her ability to convey complex emotion with subtlety. Her breakthrough arrived in 2016 with the visceral horror drama Raw, in which she reprised the name Justine, delivering a performance that blended raw physicality with psychological depth, earning critical acclaim alongside co‑star Ella Rumpf and cementing her reputation as a leading talent in contemporary French cinema.
