Elisabet Casanovas

Elisabet Casanovas is a Spanish actress born in 1994 in Sabadell, Vallès Occidental, Catalonia, whose early exposure to the performing arts came from her mother, an opera singer, fostering a deep appreciation for stagecraft from childhood. At the age of eleven, she stepped onto the theatrical scene, marking the beginning of a career that would span over a decade and a half, and her formative years were shaped by local productions that honed her craft. In 2017, her portrayal of Zerafina in the Catalan stage play La senyora Florentina i el seu amor Homer earned her the prestigious Butaca Award for Best Supporting Performance, cementing her reputation as a compelling stage presence. Transitioning to screen, she gained visibility with recurring roles in the popular television series Merlí and Welcome to the Family, but it was the drama Drama—where she played África, a young Barcelona resident confronting an unexpected pregnancy—that showcased her ability to blend emotional depth with subtle humor.
