Darya Ekamasova

Darya Nikolaevna Ekamasova (born 20 May 1984 in Moscow, then part of the Russian SFSR, USSR) is a celebrated Russian actress renowned for her versatile work in theatre, film, and television. After completing music school, she pursued formal acting training at the Russian University of Theatre Arts under the guidance of the esteemed workshop of Aleksandr Porokhovshchikov, where she honed a craft that would later earn her critical acclaim. Her stage debut came in Vladimir Ageev’s production “Captive Spirits,” where she portrayed Lyubochka Mendeleeva, a performance that marked the beginning of a steady rise in the Moscow theatrical scene. Ekamasova continued to dazzle audiences with roles in productions such as “Life is Good,” which garnered the Special Jury Prize at the prestigious Golden Mask awards in 2010, and the thought‑provoking “18th Hour,” showcasing her ability to navigate both classical and contemporary material. In cinema, Ekamasova’s breakout role arrived with the 2006 drama Free Floating, followed by memorable performances in Once Upon a Time There Lived a Simple Woman (2011) and the lyrical Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari (2012).
