Christian Oliver

Christian Oliver (born Christian Klepser on 3 March 1972 in Celle, Lower Saxony, West Germany) was a German actor and former model who gained international recognition for his work in both German and American productions. He spent his early childhood in Frankfurt am Main, where he developed an interest in performance arts before moving to the United States to pursue a modeling career. While living in New York and Los Angeles he took acting lessons, which opened doors to television roles such as Brian Keller in Saved by the Bell: The New Class and Luca in the film The Baby Sitters Club. Oliver’s breakthrough in his native country came when he joined the cast of the popular German action series Alarm für Cobra 11 as Jan Richter, appearing in 28 episodes between 2003 and 2004 and cementing his reputation as a versatile action star. His filmography later expanded to include supporting roles in Hollywood productions such as Speed Racer (2008), Valkyrie (2009) where he portrayed Sergeant‑Major Adam, and a voice cameo in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023). In addition to his on‑screen work, Oliver appeared in numerous television series, including a part in Sense8 (2015) and a recurring role as Wilhelm Zuchs in Hunters (2020). Beyond his professional achievements, Oliver married Jessica Mazur in 2010; the couple later divorced in 2021. Together they had two daughters, Madita and Annik, both of whom tragically predeceased him. On 4 January 2024, Oliver was traveling in a Bellanca Viking aircraft with his daughters and pilot Robert Sachs when the plane crashed off the coast of Bequia in the Caribbean, resulting in the loss of all aboard. The accident prompted an investigation by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force. Oliver’s legacy endures through his diverse body of work, which spans teen sitcoms, German crime dramas, and international feature films, reflecting a career that bridged cultures and genres.
