Ricardo Mario Darín, known professionally as Chino Darín, is an Argentine actor, film producer and model born on 14 January 1989 in San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Buenos Aires Province. He grew up in a family deeply rooted in the Argentine entertainment industry; his father is the celebrated actor Ricardo Darín and his grandmother Roxana Darín was also active in the arts. Darín made his television debut in 2010 with the telenovela Alguien que me quiera, quickly gaining experience alongside veteran performers such as Andrea del Boca and Osvaldo Laport. The following year he appeared in the series Los Únicos and in 2012 he entered cinema with the Argentine‑Spanish co‑production En fuera de juego. His breakthrough role arrived in 2014 when he portrayed the flamboyant police officer “El Ganso” in Death in Buenos Aires, a performance that highlighted his versatility and earned him critical attention. The subsequent years saw Darín expanding his repertoire with a mixture of comedy, thriller and drama: he starred in Volley, Pasaje de vida and Uno mismo in 2015, and earned a Martín Fierro nomination for his portrayal of Alejandro Puccio in the miniseries Historia de un clan. Internationally, he appeared in The Queen of Spain (2016) and shared the screen with his father in the acclaimed film Heroic Losers (2019), a project he also co‑produced. Beyond acting, Darín has cultivated a parallel career in fashion, fronting male‑model campaigns and becoming a recognizable face for several brands. His television work continued with notable series such as Farsantes, La embajada (where he met his longtime partner Úrsula Corberó), and the Netflix thriller El reino (2021‑2023). In 2022 he co‑produced Argentina, 1985, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Currently, Darín is slated to star in the upcoming project Iron Reign (2024), confirming his ongoing influence in both Argentine and international cinema.
