Celia Freijeiro

Celia Freijeiro García is a Spanish film, theater, and television actress and producer born on 9 February 1983 in Vigo, Galicia. She grew up in an artistic family; her father, Rafael Freijeiro, is a noted Galician painter, which fostered her early exposure to creative expression. After completing her secondary education at DeWitt High School in Arkansas, United States, she relocated to Madrid where she embarked on formal acting training and quickly entered the professional world. Freijeiro made her theatrical debut in Paloma Pedrero's play El color de agosto, a production she also produced herself, earning nominations for the prestigious Valle Inclán Theater Awards and the Mayte Award, signaling her emerging talent. In 2006, at the age of 23, she founded the cultural association Desnudo Azul, which evolved into PocaPena Productions in 2008, through which she has produced numerous stage works, short films, and a feature film, cementing her reputation as a versatile creator. Her involvement with the Sociedad Cervantina began in 2010 when she joined its board, rising to vice‑president in 2017, and she spearheaded the opening of the Cervantes Chamber Theater in 2019, enriching Madrid's cultural landscape.
