Bryan Lee Cranston, born on March 7, 1956, is a prominent American actor and filmmaker. Predominantly known for his roles as Walter White in the AMC crime drama series Breaking Bad (2008–2013) and Hal in the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2006), Cranston's performances have bagged him a plethora of awards, including six Primetime Emmy Awards, two Tony Awards, and two Golden Globes. In addition, he has received nominations for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award. Cranston's performance in Breaking Bad was instrumental in winning him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series four times (2008, 2009, 2010, and 2014), and a Golden Globe in 2014. After becoming a producer of the show in 2011, he won the award for Outstanding Drama Series twice. On the big screen, Cranston's notable works include Saving Private Ryan (1998), Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Drive (2011), Argo (2012), and The Upside (2017) among others.

Cranston was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, and grew part of his early life in Yucaipa, California, on a poultry farm owned by his maternal grandparents. At 19, an acting class in Los Angeles Valley College changed the course of his life and career. He began his acting journey in local and regional theaters, eventually scoring regular roles by the late 1980s. From 2008 to 2013, he played the protagonist's role in Breaking Bad, receiving wide critical acclaim. Cranston's theater credits include playing President Lyndon B. Johnson in the Broadway play All the Way (2014) and portraying Howard Beale in the play Network, for which he received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor and his second Tony Award. Cranston's work stretches across TV shows, films, and theater, making him a gem of Hollywood with years of active contribution.
