Barry Gibb

Barry Gibb is a British‑Australian singer‑songwriter, musician and record producer whose career spans more than seven decades. Born Barry Alan Crompton Gibb on 1 September 1946 in Douglas, Isle of Man, he first picked up a guitar as a child and formed the skiffle group the Rattlesnakes with his twin brothers Robin and Maurice in Manchester in 1955. The trio evolved into the Bee Gees, achieving global fame with a string of hits that showcased Gibb’s distinctive high‑falsetto and his uncanny knack for melodic hooks. Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s the Bee Gees produced timeless classics such as “To Love Somebody” and “Massachusetts”, but it was the disco era of the late 1970s that cemented their legendary status, with Gibb co‑writing record‑breaking songs like “Stayin’ Alive”, “Night Fever” and “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart”.
