AJ Dee

AJ Dee, born Angel James Velasquez Dee III on July 27, 1982 in Naga, Camarines Sur, Philippines, is a multifaceted Filipino talent who first made his mark as a competitive swimmer before transitioning to modelling and acting. While attending Naga Hope Christian School, he excelled in the national Palarong Pambansa and earned a spot on the Philippine swimming team, representing the country in Hong Kong, Brunei, Singapore, and Taiwan, experiences that cultivated discipline and a public presence. His athletic background opened doors to the Mossimo Bikini Summit and the FDAP Body Shots Model Search, where he showcased his photogenic appeal and laid the groundwork for a successful modelling career. Dee later pursued higher education at Ateneo de Naga University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, a field that equipped him with business acumen useful in managing his varied endeavors. He is the older brother of actor‑swimmer Enchong Dee, a relationship that often highlighted a family tradition of sports and entertainment. In 2004 Dee entered the television arena as a co‑host of the variety show MTB: Ang Saya Saya after earning runner‑up status in the “TV Idol UR D Man” contest, and quickly accumulated a portfolio of supporting roles in dramas such as Basta't Kasama Kita and the regional variety Kilig Bicool!. His film debut came with Star Cinema’s Dreamboy (2005), followed by a regular role in the primetime teleserye Vietnam Rose and a stint on The Buzz as a “Wanna Buzz” host. Over the years he appeared in projects like Moon of Desire (2014) as Caleb, the half‑wolf father, and took part in Sa Puso Ni Dok, Bridges of Love, and Pasión de amor. Parallel to acting, Dee modeled for Bench, headlined TV commercials, and launched the fashion blog The Filo Dapper, where he shares style insights. In recent years he has relocated to Norway with his Norwegian wife Olga Havran, and they are parents to two sons, Maximus James and Alexandros Jayden, while maintaining ties to the Philippine entertainment industry.
