Aina Clotet

Aina Clotet Fresquet (born 23 September 1982 in Barcelona) is a Spanish actress and director who has become a prominent figure in Catalan television, film, and theatre. She began her career at the age of eleven, debuting in the TV3 series Estació d'enllaç in 1994, and has remained active ever since, accumulating a diverse portfolio that spans drama, comedy, and experimental works. Her academic background includes a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University and training at the Nancy Tuñón School, which equipped her with a strong foundation for both performance and storytelling. Clotet gained widespread recognition for her roles in the TV3 series Infidels and Gran Nord, where her portrayals of complex, resilient women earned critical praise and solidified her status as a versatile lead. In cinema, she delivered compelling performances in Elisa K, Los niños salvajes, and Rastros de sándalo, receiving multiple nominations at the Gaudí Awards and winning the Silver Biznaga for best supporting actress at the Málaga Film Festival. Beyond acting, Aina ventured into directing with her short film Tiger (2015), which was nominated for a Gaudí Award and screened at the Málaga Film Festival, demonstrating her expanding artistic vision. Her theatre work includes a long‑running stint in the acclaimed play Germanes and a notable performance in El sistema solar at Teatre Lliure, showcasing her commitment to the stage. Aina is also known for her advocacy, publicly addressing pregnancy discrimination in the industry and supporting AIDS research initiatives alongside her brother, actor Marc Clotet.
