What's After the Movie
Adrian Pang Yeow Soon (born 8 January 1966) is a Singaporean actor, producer and television host whose career spans more than three decades across multiple media platforms. Born in Malacca, Malaysia, Pang emigrated to Singapore with his family as a child and attended the Anglo‑Chinese School and Anglo‑Chinese Junior College before earning a law degree from Keele University in the United Kingdom. Although qualified as a lawyer, he chose the performing arts, training at ARTTS International and spending several formative years in British theatre and television before returning to Singapore in the late 1990s. His breakout came with the cult comedy film Forever Fever (1998) and a string of bilingual television dramas for MediaCorp and the now‑defunct SPH MediaWorks, where he quickly became known for his charismatic presence and comedic timing. In the early 2000s he co‑wrote and starred in the channel‑i drama Six Weeks, highlighting his versatility as both writer and performer. Pang’s dramatic chops earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Star Awards 2005 for Portrait of Home and a win at the 14th Asian Television Awards in 2009 for his portrayal of a blind lawyer in Red Thread. Beyond screen work, he has a rich theatrical résumé that includes productions such as The Dresser, The Odd Couple and the Singapore Repertory Theatre’s God of Carnage. In 2010 he and his wife Tracie Howitt founded the production company PANGDEMONiUM!, mounting acclaimed stage shows like The Full Monty and Closer. A published author, Pang released the children’s picture book Hansel and Girl Girl in 2014, re‑imagining a classic fairy tale in a Singaporean setting. Most recently he served as creative director for the 2022 Singapore National Day Parade and continues to appear in legal dramas such as The Pupil and Code of Law, melding his academic background with his artistic talents.
