Joy Ride 3 2014

Racecar drivers Jordon and Austin embark on a journey with their team, including Jewel (Jordon’s girlfriend), Mickey, Alisa, and Bobby, heading to Canada for the Road Rally 1000. During a lunch stop, Austin discovers a shortcut on the map, warned against by the creepy trucker Barry. Despite the warning, the group decides to take the route.

As they travel, teasing banter among Austin’s friends turns tense when Austin’s past crash is mentioned. Frustrated, Austin provokes Rusty Nail, a trucker, leading to a series of dangerous encounters. Rusty deliberately causes a crash, detaching the flatbed trailer carrying their racecar and endangering Mickey and Bobby. Jordon evades Rusty’s pursuit, but Rusty, using a mounted camera, vows revenge via a CB radio.

That night, Jewel and Austin, seeking help, encounter Rusty Nail, who forces them off the road and abducts them. In a deserted field, Rusty cruelly kills Austin and contacts Jordon, demanding the racecar in exchange for Jewel’s release. Jordon, Mickey, Alisa, and Bobby reach an old warehouse to confront Rusty.

Rusty kidnaps Bobby, leading the group on a chase. They encounter a helpful police officer, but Rusty violently eliminates him. Mickey’s attempt to seek law enforcement aid ends tragically when Rusty ambushes and kills him.

Undeterred, Jordon and Alisa refuse to involve the authorities and continue the pursuit. Rusty, through a radio taunt, executes Bobby, and demands Jordon’s surrender at a junkyard to save Jewel and Austin. In a lone confrontation, Alisa runs over Rusty, seemingly turning the tide. However, they discover Jewel’s distress was manipulated with pre-recorded footage.

Enraged, Jordon and Alisa, determined to rescue Jewel, confront Rusty again. Rusty rams into them, attempting to crush them. Jordon escapes and, in a desperate move, uses a nearby wrecking claw to put Rusty’s truck into a crusher, seemingly eliminating him.

When investigators check, Rusty is mysteriously absent. The film concludes with Rusty Nail hitching a ride, leaving Jordon and Alisa as the only survivors. The lingering uncertainty of Rusty’s disappearance adds a chilling note to the otherwise apparent victory.
