As Thien (actor name) mourns the untimely passing of his sister-in-law Teresa in a devastating motorcycle accident in Saigon, his young nephew Dao, just five years old, miraculously survives. Driven by a mix of grief and responsibility, Thien accompanies both Teresa’s lifeless body and Dao to the rural village where he spent his formative years.
