What Is Funkytown About?
The premise of Funkytown without spoilers.
Set in Montreal during the disco boom 35 years ago, a group gathers at the city nightclub, Starlight, while their lives are reshaped by dramas and the Parti Québécois rising to power, which alters Quebec’s culture as the disco fad fades. Central is Bastien, a larger‑than‑life figure whose drug addiction, acting dreams and womanising drive the plot.
