Check out what happened in A Little Romance!

In the City of Light, where the Eiffel Tower pierces the sky, Lauren King, a 13-year-old American ingénue (Lauren King), resides with her mother and stepfather in Paris. Her life is marked by privilege and intellect, but beneath the façade lies a deep-seated desire for adventure. Across the Seine, Daniel Michon, a French teenager with a passion for cinema and a sharp street sense (Daniel Michon), navigates his own path, living with his taxi-driving father in a world where love is just as much an art form as film.

Their lives converge at the majestic Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, where Lauren's mother begins to rekindle a romantic connection with the enigmatic movie director George de Marco. Amidst this whirlwind of emotions, Daniel and Lauren meet in a chance encounter that will forever alter their destinies. They cross paths with Julius Santorin, an eccentric elderly gentleman whose tales of love and tradition captivate Lauren's imagination.

Inspired by Julius' stories of the Bridge of Sighs in Venice, where couples who share a kiss beneath the city's iconic bridges while the church bells toll will be forever bound by love, Daniel and Lauren concoct a plan to travel to this fabled city. Though they possess a small fortune from a horse race, they lack the necessary adult accompaniment to cross the border.

Enter Julius, whose wisdom and cunning guide them through a series of misadventures as they attempt to reach Venice. Along the way, they befriend American tourists Bob and Janet Duryea, whose presence unwittingly sets off an international search for Lauren, whom her family believes has been abducted.

As their journey unfolds, Daniel and Lauren's relationship is put to the test by a series of unexpected events. In Verona, a dinner with the Duryeas takes an unexpected turn when Bob discovers his wallet has been pilfered. Meanwhile, Julius' enigmatic nature raises suspicions among the group as he offers to cover the meal's expense, sparking tensions and misunderstandings that threaten to derail their dreams of love in Venice.

As their escape route is cut off, they embark on a daring bicycle race through Verona's winding streets, seeking freedom from the city's grasp. When Julius begins to falter, Lauren persuades Daniel to return and rescue him, leading them to discover the young man collapsed from exhaustion. As Daniel coaxes Julius back onto his feet, the latter reveals a tangled web of deceit, confessing that he not only pilfered Bob's pocket but also stole their train ticket money, leaving Lauren feeling betrayed. The sting of disappointment is exacerbated by her revelation that she will soon be departing for the United States, forever changing the dynamics of their trio. Her desire to steal one final kiss with Daniel beneath the Bridge of Sighs serves as a poignant reminder of the impermanence of their idyllic escapade.

In the city of canals and romance, they find solace in the grandeur of St. Mark's Basilica, only for their peace to be shattered by a chance encounter with the Duryeas, setting them once more on the run from danger. Julius, ever the resourceful companion, shelters them within a movie theater, furnishing them with his remaining funds and vowing to return mere minutes before sunset. However, when Lauren and Daniel are lost in the cinematic escapades unfolding before their eyes, Julius surrenders himself to the authorities, refusing to compromise the safety of his friends despite being brutally attacked by an inspector. The clock ticks down as they drift off to sleep, only to be jolted awake with mere minutes remaining. A gondola awaits, and Lauren and Daniel seize the opportunity to steal a kiss beneath the Bridge of Sighs' iconic bells as the sun dips below the horizon.

In the aftermath, Lauren prepares for her impending departure, her heart heavy with the weight of their fleeting adventure. Across the street, Daniel stands vigilantly, waiting to bid his farewell to the woman he loves. Her stepfather's reluctant approval allows her to share a final, poignant moment with Daniel, as they pledge not to conform to the norms of the world around them. As she departs, Lauren is struck by Julius' forlorn figure waving goodbye from a nearby bench. With tears in her eyes, she rushes to him, embracing their shared memories before parting ways once more.

As Lauren's car pulls away, Daniel and his beloved stand at the curb, their faces etched with longing as they share one final glance. In a burst of defiance, Daniel leaps into the air, their love forever frozen in time like the ancient stones that surround them.
