Zoë E. Bell, born on 17 November 1978, is a prominent New Zealand stuntwoman and actress. Some of her most notable stunt work includes doubling for Lucy Lawless in Xena: Warrior Princess and for Uma Thurman in Kill Bill. As an actress, Bell has appeared on television and in feature films; she gained recognition for starring in the web series Angel of Death. She played herself in the widely known Quentin Tarantino film Death Proof. In consecutive years, she continued her acting prowess in Tarantino's films The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, adding to her credits as a stunt coordinator and stuntwoman. Born on Waiheke Island, New Zealand, at an early age, Bell showed interest in competitive gymnastics. Upon turning 15, she began studying taekwon-do, additionally participating in dance, high diving, scuba, and track and field activities. Bell's career turned a corner in 1992 when she jumped out of a car in Shortland Street, a New Zealand soap opera, marking her first stunt job. Her career consistently gained momentum, from performing stunts in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess to doubling for Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. Near the end of filming for Kill Bill: Volume 2, however, Bell experienced a setback, enduring injuries that resulted in surgery and a prolonged recuperation.**In 2004, the documentary Double Dare was released, primarily focusing on Bell's career spanning the end of Xena to the inception of her work on Kill Bill: Volume 1. Expanding her role as a stuntwoman, she additionally clinched a leading role in Tarantino's film, Death Proof (2007), performing her own complex stunts. Moving further into the film industry, Bell appeared in Sony's web series Angel of Death, sharing the screen with her former Xena colleague Lucy Lawless. In Drew Barrymore's 2009 directorial debut, Whip It, Bell portrayed a medical technician 'Bloody Holly', who moonlights as a roller derby star, showcasing her diverse acting capabilities. Her recognition in the field of performing arts led her to signing with CAA in August 2020.
