Verna Arline Felton was a diverse American actress working primarily as a voice talent for various Disney animated films. Born on July 20, 1890, Felton was best known for the voice of Mrs. Jumbo and Elephant Matriarch in Disney's Dumbo (1941), the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella (1950), and other iconic animated roles. She also lent her voice to Pearl Slaghoople, Fred Flintstone's mother-in-law in Hanna-Barbera's The Flintstones (1962–1963). Besides her distinctive animated roles, she actively participated in radio programs, frequently showcasing characters with husky voice and no-nonsense attitudes.

Besides her voice work, Felton acted in live-action films and had roles in numerous radio and television productions. She was known for her roles as Dennis Day's mother, on various versions of The Jack Benny Program and as Hilda Crocker, a character she reprised on both radio and television version of December Bride. Felton's career spanned over numerous decades, with her roles extending beyond just animation, including live-action film and television. These roles are a testament to her talent and the indelible mark she has made in the entertainment industry. She served as the honorary mayor of North Hollywood and received recognition for her extensive work in both radio and television. She passed away at the age of 76 on December 14, 1966.
