Rupert Sanders

Rupert Miles Sanders, born on March 16, 1971, is an acclaimed English film director whose career spans over two decades. Sanders embarked on his directing journey by working under Tony Kaye and soon transitioned into directing television advertisements. His ad for Halo 3: ODST signalled his early success, earning him two Golden Lions at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. In 2012, he made a powerful entry into feature films with his directorial debut, Snow White and the Huntsman, a large scale project with a $170 million budget. The film grossed a whopping $396,592,829 at the box office. Moving forward, he declined to direct the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, instead opting to direct the film adaptation of the famed science fiction manga franchise Ghost in the Shell. Despite his expressed interest in a sequel, the box office failure of the film led to abandonment of the idea. Notably, Sanders directed the 2024 reboot of The Crow, with Bill Skarsgård playing the lead role.
